Last evening members of the Round Lake Fire Department conducted training on our old station on Curry Road. Acquired structures that are to be torn down provide important training opportunities that are not usually available.

Today the RLFD 2018 Spring Recruit Class completed their training with a live burn at the Saratoga County Fire Training Center. Congratulations to the seven new Round Lake firefighters and thank you for your dedication to our community.

Congratulations to firefighter Michael Christofferson on his graduation from the NYS Interior Fire Operations Course.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an outside burn ban from March 16 through May 14.

Today, crews from the Round Lake Fire Department provided coverage for the Ballston Spa Fire Department while they were attending the funeral of past chief Creifelds. The Round Lake Fire Department would like to extend our condolences to the family of Robert Creifelds and the members of the Ballston Spa Fire Department and the Eagle Matt Lee Fire Company.

Yesterday, the Round Lake Fire Department conducted ice rescue training with the Malta Ridge Fire Department on Round Lake.

The winter 2018 recruit class is nearing the end of their training. This morning they practiced building search techniques.

At this morning’s drill, members of the Round Lake Fire Department were joined by the Stratton Air National Guard Fire Department for extrication training.
