One of the features of the new station will be a division of the facility between hot zones where gear and equipment will be allowed and cold zones where it will not.

Tonight, members of the Round Lake Fire Department conducted vehicle extrication training at station 1. RLFD has extensive vehicle extrication capabilities including a heavy rescue truck, a light rescue truck, three sets of hydraulic extrication tools and various stabilization and lifting equipment.

Shortly after 3:00 am Car 540, Rescue 545 and Rescue 548 responded as the FAST assignment for an apartment fire with the Clifton Park Fire Department.

This morning RLFD was dispatched to two separate fire alarm activations at Malta Commons at 1:44 am and 3:40 am.

This Wednesday and Thursday, members of the Round Lake and Malta Ridge fire departments conducted back to back joint equipment familiarization training at the shared station in Parade Ground Village.

On Saturday members of the Round Lake Fire Department participated Memorial Service for Sheriff Deputy William Marshall. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his colleagues.

Today at our Tuesday morning drill, we were joined by members of the Stratton Air National Guard Base Fire Department to conduct building search training.

Arriving units found a fully involved house and single degree temperatures. Round Lake crews served as the FAST crew and assisted with extinguishing and overhauling the fire.

2017 was a busy year for the Round Lake Fire Department.

2018 will be a year of significant changes for the RLFD as your volunteers work to meet the challenges of our growing community.
